We hosted our teammates and friends for a Thanksgiving celebration (a week early) and it was fun, but man was it a lot of work. I had every intention of taking photos, but turns out I’m not very good at cooking and photoing simultaneously. Or hostessing and photoing simultaneously.
Despite the lack of photographic proof however, we successfully (at least in our opinions) managed to host 20-something people in our apartment, though we had to borrow some chairs. Great food was had, great conversation was had (much of it in Russian), and great hymn-singing in three different languages was had.
Here are the pics I do have of Ben getting the turkey and stuffing ready. (But don’t be fooled, he didn’t do all the work. Just the important stuff like turkey. And stuffing.)
Making turkey brine. So pretty.
Crushing (and I mean crushing, look at that face) bread crumbs. Because the food processor and the blender both decided to make life difficult as a special Thanksgiving gift for us.
Jury-rigged balcony turkey-brining. But hey, it worked!
And now to spend the next 15 years eating leftover, very expensive, turkey.
