Church History

Today we got to enjoy going around the town of Chester, England, which is well over a thousand years old. We were able to walk most of the way around the old town walls and saw a rather unimpressive Roman amphitheater and two churches that were close to 1500 years old. In one of these I was initially excited to see that there would be some sort of musical performance so we stopped by for it. I was quickly nauseated by the fact that the were playing a piece celebrating the zodiac – essentially importing paganism to the house of God. I resisted the urge to go all Jesus in th temple on them.

Two highlights, however, we being able to get a picture in a place John Wesley preached and with Matthew Henry’s memorial obelisk.
