Passports!

If this email looks a lot like our last one, it’s because we may soon be headed to

Eastern Europe

We’ve been telling everyone, “In the second year of Benjamin’s Consultant in Training (CiT) program we’ll be headed back overseas to be near projects.” However, somewhere along the way we kinda stopped believing that as the first year stretched into two by the ever changing covid restrictions and cancelations. As information didn’t flow our way we started preparing to live stateside more permanently. However, in October Benjamin was in Orlando for a gathering of his cohort of CiT’s and each of us got a chance to sit down for a long, individual chat with the leadership of the program. They are ready for us to head back overseas to be near projects! We’re starting the process of meeting the team and figuring out the logistics of getting there and will give you more information as soon as things solidify.

Meanwhile, back in North Carolina…

We were slowly working on packing for a stateside move and working and homeschooling. Now we’re more seriously trying to sort into take, store, and purge categories—which is a bit harder, we have to look at each thing and decide if we’ll have space and weight for it in suitcases. (Alternatively, try to determine how replaceable each item we’d like to keep will be when we get there.) While everything gets sorted out, we’ll be moving to Texas mid-December. We hope to be moving overseas by mid-February.

Praises:

  • We’re moving forward in consultant training
  • Good training and connection times with teams in October and November
  • A great family Thanksgiving
  • Provision of temporary housing in Dallas
  • The kids’ new passports arrived in under a week!
  • The people of Missionary Homes who have graciously hosted and provided wonderful housing for us over the past two years

Prayers:

  • For all the logistics and planning between us and organizations will come together quickly so that our overseas move happens in a timely manner
  • For wisdom and packing focus
  • For our trip to Maryland Dec 4-8 to share at a partner church
  • For grace and ability to say goodbye well
  • For the kids in transition
  • For physical health and strength during moving
  • That the newest covid thing wouldn’t cause another delay
