Travel:
Last week Benjamin “got to” run Zoom for our twice annual all-staff meetings in Orlando. The first day I set the small group rooms to automatically kick people out after a couple of minutes, because I thought that was what the speaker’s schedule said. It was actually supposed to be 15-20 minutes of one-on-one time which ended up being three different 5 minute one-on-one times. Technology.
Fortunately, I was there in person, many had to cancel on what is always an encouraging time: actually being in person with our team. As last year, one day I saw someone water skiing and the next I was sitting outside in the wind wearing all the clothes I’d brought wondering how long I could take it. It didn’t seem quite so cold when I watched my first (TWO!) ever rocket launches. The Atlantic was suitably frigid though. The conference was an encouraging time and we made some real progress, especially in establishing clarity between parts of the team that see each other less.
Travel:
Benjamin will be travelling again very soon. I am going overseas for a week of meetings with the Russian speaking team that we hope to join. Keep all the logistics for that in your prayers, especially a negative test so I can come home. Pray for Shanna and the kids while I’m away again. Pray for a profitable time of bonding and planning between teams.
But no move yet:
Due to the current political tensions, we’ve been advised by local contacts to wait until late February before pursuing the move to Ukraine further. Pray for a clearly peaceful resolution. Pray for a smooth process to a visa invite and residence permit sponsorship once things are calm enough to proceed.
