Getting Cultured in Dallas

Today Kyle1 came by telling us of a deal to get a Six Flags pass for the rest of the fall and spring – at a really good price (apparently). Shanna & I rather quickly decided that we weren’t terribly excited about it, however, we are taking advantage of being in a big city in other ways. See, we’re going to see Keith & Kristen Getty (some of my favorite modern hymn-writers) Thursday, an organ concert Sunday, a local production of Pilgrim’s Progress Oct 19th, a performance of the music from the Firebird ballet (one of Shanna’s favorite works) sometime the weekend of the 19th (if there’s student/affordable tickets) and a local performance of Les Mis the weekend of Oct 26th. Best part? Excluding the still unknown price of the Firebird, all those together are about the price of one of those Six Flags passes. Of course, we could ride roller coasters everyday for 3 months if we wanted, and we’re both adrenaline junkies. But I guess these days we like culture better.

1 – One of our fun neighbors, yesterday we were walking in from church & they invited us in to lunch with them, just like that.
