I’m going to try to get these out more regularly, we’ve said this was a weekly list but haven’t done well. I’ll try to give a request for our family and I’ll be pulling from the unfoldingWord monthly prayer calendar <unfoldingword.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Prayer-Calendar-February-2025.pdf> as well as field or other updates.
For the Wrights: Benjamin is trying to finish our resources for Leviticus by mid-month. He is also trying to wrap up a class final project due Feb 28. Shanna and the kids continue with homeschooling and extra-curriculars. Pray for diligence, attentiveness, and patience.
Others: Pray for *Ezra de Joode*, the eight year old son of one of Benjamin’s (European) co-workers whose hand was slammed in a door a couple weeks ago. They are asking prayer for:
– healing, that his finger might heal as well as possible and no additional surgery is required, that his skin might regenerate – functionality, that on the long run his finger might be fully functional – sensitivity, for the sensitivity in his finger to return and to be restored – visibility, for the visible impact of the accident to be reduced
*This Week’s Meetings in the Nuba Mountains (Wycliffe+… includes the group Benjamin met and worked with in South Sudan)* Starting tomorrow, Feb. 5, leaders from more than 20 churches and organizations (local, regional and national) are meeting in the Nuba Mountains, a language dense area in the south of Sudan.
Russ Hersman, field coordinator for Anglophone/Lusophone Africa, will be participating and is inviting us to join him in prayer for:
– God’s presence and wisdom as He guides the process. – Open hearts, honest sharing and deep listening among all participants so that deep, strong and meaningful relationships will be built. – Clear and unified ways to move forward as they consider how to best partner to serve the churches and communities in a way that honors and glorifies God. – This work to reflect unity in the body of Christ, demonstrating the love and oneness He desires for His people. – Any schemes of the enemy that seek to bring division, misunderstanding or conflict to fail. May all participants be grounded in God’s truth and love.
*uW prayer calendar:* Feb 5: 2025 is a time of transition for our partner, Transform Iran. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s anointing for the new generation now shouldering the leadership yoke. Feb 6: Islam and Christianity share some religious words but mean different things by them. Pray for Muslim background Bible translators in their struggle to clarify the differences. Feb 7: Join unfoldingWord as we pray for South Asia today, where new anti-conversion laws are being implemented. Feb 8: Pray for “*Idris*,” who came to Christ through a CCBT ministry in Africa and has since led several Muslim family members to the faith. He is training to be a pastor. Feb 9: Read 1 Peter 4:7-11. All Christians should live with the end in mind, intent on bringing God glory through our lives. Pray that all involved in CCBT will bring him glory as we work together. Feb 10: Pray for our U.S. resource partners who invest in advancing the gospel through Bible translation efforts worldwide ==============================================
