*For us: *

*Wycliffe’s prayer focus:* Chuka 3 Project in Kenya
The Chuka people live on the eastern side of Mount Kenya and have a rich church history. The completed books of the New Testament are already being widely used by churches and individuals in the community (catch a glimpse of the procession of the launch of the Chuka Gospel of Luke, in the photo to the right).
The Chuka 3 project is a transition project that started in 2022 with the goals of:
– Finalizing the remaining seven books of the New Testament. – Publishing a few portions of the Old Testament. – Recording the Magdalena Film and Gospel Film. – Producing an audio recording of the New Testament. – Producing the Jesus Messiah comic book for children. – Continuing to roll out the Oral Bible Storying program in churches and primary schools. – Creating Scripture use materials in line with the top three felt needs as expressed by the Chuka community: mental health and wellness, fostering sound moral and biblical values within the family unit and society at large, and biblical leadership and governance within the community.
As we approach the end of the project, please join with our partners and the translation team in praying for:
– Wisdom, strength, protection and health for all involved. – Continued community engagement with the individual drafts of the New Testament that have been produced. – Continued unity around the project and film production. – The final consultant checking and publishing of the New Testament.
The skillset, experience and passion of the translators for Scripture engagement within the Chuka community have been a key strength for this project. We praise God for them! As a result of their own creative initiatives in engaging with the Chuka churches and wider community, there is a shared commitment to making the New Testament available to all. ==============================================
